Coronado Military Spouses Meeting

Come meet your Military Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team for CUSD and meet Naval Base Coronado’s School Liaison Officer!

Coronado Military Spouses is a monthly event where CUSD military parents meet and get further acquainted with one another. It is a meeting place to discuss areas of interest and concern under the guidance of our Military Family Life Counselors from CUSD and Naval Base Coronado’s School Liaison Officer. This is your time to talk and develop meaningful discussions. Each meeting highlights a particular topic and is designed to be interactive rather than a lecture series

First Meeting on September 6, 2017 - Coronado Middle School, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Topic: "Children and Moving/Challenges of Changing Schools"

November 15, 2017 - Silver Strand Elementary, Topic: "Communication and Assertiveness"
January 10, 2017 - Village Elementary, Topic: "Coping with Transition"
April 11, 2017 - Coronado Middle School, Topic: "Life in Balance: Relaxation and Stress Relief"

The school day will conclude at the usual school dismissal time on these days.

Character Counts Week 2017

The City of Coronado and the Coronado Unified School District have embraced the Character Counts Program.  This week of October 16-22, 2017 is National Character Counts Week.

The Coronado City Council declared in 2009 that the third week in October serves as Character Counts Week in the City of Coronado!

2017 Great Shake Out

Millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On at 10:19 a.m. on October 19th during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills, which began in California in 2008.

Participating is a great way for your family or organization to be prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes– wherever you live, work, or travel.
